DNR gives incentive to GO GREEN

If you’ve been thinking about updating your home to make it more energy efficient, you might want to get the ball rolling this fall. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources received funds through the Recovery Act, to assist Missouri residents with implementing energy-saving upgrades to their homes.

Participating residents must receive an energy audit from a list of certified auditors, and make the changes suggested by that auditor to be eligible for the rebates. Click here for a fact sheet published by the DNR for more information.

These rebates include upgrades to heating and air, as well as geothermal installations; and the rebate amounts could be anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 depending on the type of upgrade and percentage in energy savings as a result of the upgrade.

This program can be used in unison with all other Federal and local utility rebates, therefore the savings could be HUGE and homeowners could see almost, if not, immediate payback!

The list of auditors will be posted by the DNR soon, so check their website frequently for updates.
